David Beckham is no stranger to fierce competition — now he just faces it in the kitchen.
Brooklyn Beckham, David’s eldest child, recently told Insider that he and his father often have cooking competitions.
The aspiring chef — who sat down with Insider to discuss his partnership with the kitchen-appliance company Typhur — credits his father for inspiring his cooking passion.
“Growing up, my dad has always loved being in the kitchen,” Brooklyn Beckham said. “
And as a very young baby, I was lucky enough to travel with him to different places in the world and try different cuisines. I think my love for cooking and trying different cuisines definitely came from my dad.”
Beckham told Insider his dad’s best dish is spaghetti bolognese, which they learned at a pasta-making class in Italy when the soccer legend was still playing for AC Milan from 2009 to 2010.
“He learned from, obviously, the best place you could learn how to make pasta,” Beckham said. “He used to cook it all the time when I was a little kid. I would be so excited coming home from school and seeing my dad make spaghetti bolognese.”
