Popster will be roaring on behalf of the world’s most disadvantaged youth as part of her work for UNICEF
Katy Perry is doing her part for underprivileged youth as the “Unconditionally” singer was named a UNICEF Goodwill Ambassador at an event Tuesday in New York City.
Perry will take up the task of engaging young people in UNICEF’s work to improve the lives of the globe’s most vulnerable children and teenagers.
That means empowering them to speak out about the challenges they face including such issues as living in extreme poverty in communities beset by violence, abuse, neglect and war.
“I believe young people have the power to change their own lives, with our help,” said the 29-year-old hitmaker.
“I am honored to join UNICEF as a Goodwiil Ambassador, and committed to doing everything I can to help children and adolescents who come from such different backgrounds but want the same thing: a brighter future.”
