As it turns out, you can actually be friends with an ex — at least that’s true to Katy Perry’s experience. After the pop artist confirmed that much on Twitter, saying, “U can still b friends & love ur former partners!
No one’s a victim or a villain, get a life y’all!” one of her exes is offering their relationship up as proof that, yes, it’s true. That man happens to be Orlando Bloom, the actor whom Katy dated over the course of at least 10 months, according to E!.
Sadly, the two split up in February, and now it seems that enough time has passed for them to begin to reflect on their shared past.
Orlando recently spoke up about their relationship and how they’ve managed to remain chill since it ended, telling ELLE UK,
“We’re friends, it’s good. We’re all grown up. She happens to be someone who is very visible, but I don’t think anybody cares about what I’m up to. Nor should they.
It’s between us. It’s better to set an example for kids and show that [breakups] don’t have to be about hate.”
Katy also has no hate for Ryan Phillippe, another person she was linked to, albeit falsely. The rumors didn’t stop her from having a bit of fun with the situation as two days ago,
Ryan tweeted an all-caps explanation of their relationship or lack thereof, writing, “I AM NOT DATING KATY PERRY. BARELY KNOW HER. PLEASE STOP FLYING HELICOPTERS OVER MY HOUSE. SHE IS NOT HERE. thx.”
Katy Perry dealt with it in a characteristically whip-smart way — with humor — replying, “Can u let me out of this basement pls?”
She later acknowledged the awkwardness of the situation, writing, “Hi, nice to meet you, sorry bout that @RyanPhillippe carry on, lol.”
