According to American media, the popular performer spoke for the first time last night on the ‘Entertainment Tonight’ program about what until now was a simple rumor.

Ford, 66, was asked directly if he was engaged to Flockhart, 44, to which the actor responded: ‘You’d be the first to know if you weren’t,’ 

before adding: ‘Yes, of course. I am delighted’.

The couple has been together for more than seven years and have a son in common, Liam, adopted in 2001 by the actress, 

star of the series ‘Five Brothers’.

Both have always been very jealous of their privacy and have never spoken openly about their plans to get married.

Flockart achieved great popularity thanks to her role as a neurotic lawyer in the series ‘Ally McBeal’, which aired in the US from 1997 to 2002, and for which she won four Golden Globe awards. For

her part, Ford, nominated for the Oscar for best actor for ‘Only Witness’ (1985), is currently filming the drama ‘Crowley’, alongside Brendan Fraser.
