When Harrison Ford appeared on Jimmy Kimmel Live! in April 2013, he made it clear he’d refuse any questions about Star Wars. 

Several actors have been involved in massive franchises like Star Wars that are beloved by fans around the world. 

However, not every celebrity has enjoyed the popularity that comes with a character.

Harrison Ford has spoken about Star Wars, even stating that he wished his character had been killed off in an earlier film.

 But during one interview with Jimmy Kimmel, he made it clear from the beginning that he wanted to avoid discussing the film. T

hings took a sudden turn though, when one audience member stood up to ask Ford a question.

Harrison Ford has starred in a ton of successful films, and has played several memorable characters in his lengthy career. Two of his most prolific roles were Indiana Jones, the titular hero of the Indiana Jones films, and Han Solo, a fan-favorite of the Star Wars franchise. Although Ford will forever be attached to these massive roles, it doesn’t mean he wants to address them ALL the time…

Back in 2013, when Jimmy Kimmel had Ford as a guest on his show, Jimmy Kimmel Live!, he told The Fugitive actor that he wanted to ask about Star Wars, especially with a new movie coming out.

“Now I don’t mean to move on to other parts of your career, but there’s a Star Wars movie coming out (A New Hope), J.J. Abrams is directing it. And I would love to know what your plans are for this (film).”

To Kimmel’s dismay, however, Ford refused to discuss it. When the host brought up the famous franchise, Ford appeared uncomfortable and answered, “You know, I can’t.” Kimmel asked the Sabrina actor, “You can’t say what’s going on?” Ford told the host he wouldn’t talk about Star Wars. “I…you know there’s nothing-I can’t talk about that.”

Kimmel then told Ford:

“We have some people in the audience who’d like to ask you a few questions, would you be alright taking some questions from the audience?”

“Sure,” the star replied, and as Kimmel began asking if there were “any rules”, Ford again said that he didn’t want to answer any questions about the popular franchise, commenting, “just no Star Wars questions.”

Kimmel then began taking questions from audience members who were dressed as characters from Star Wars, and seemed to have to re-think their questions on the spot. When one audience member stood up, things took a sudden turn and Ford appeared to get angry.

Although he didn’t want to discuss his upcoming role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens, knowing it needed to be a surprise, Harrison Ford agreed to take some questions from members of the audience, and reminded them not to ask about Star Wars.

The audience members who stood up to ask questions were dressed as Star Wars characters. Unable to ask about the popular film franchise, they asked the Indiana Jones actor completely random questions instead, like, “Do you like movies?” and “Are you hungry?” as the audience laughed. Ford answered the questions, but kept his responses short.

Then Chewbacca stood up, and things took a sudden turn. Ford seemed outraged at Chewy. Glaring at his Star Wars co-star, the star lashed out at his former friend. It seemed something had torn the two apart. Ford yelled out, “You son of a b****, what do you want?” Chewbacca attempted to explain, or apologize, but Ford was having none of it.

Ford chuckled, “You’d like that, wouldn’t you? Always trying to blame me. You’re the one who couldn’t keep it in your furry pants!” When Kimmel commented that Chewy “doesn’t wear pants,” Ford turned to the host and declared, “I rest my case!”

Kimmel tried to figure out what caused the rift, and asked at one point, “What happened between you?” The Patriot Games actor didn’t go into detail and only replied, “He knows what he did.”

Harrison Ford was clearly uninterested in discussing Star Wars, and even demanded to know if Kimmel had planned the whole Chewbacca thing. “Did you set this up Kimmel?” The host explained, “I know you’ve had issues in the past, and I thought it would be nice to get you (two) together.”

Ford then made it clear the host would have to choose between them. Turning to Kimmel, he said, “You listen to me. You’re either on my side, or you’re on his side.” When Kimmel attempted to protest, the star finished the interview, telling the host, “F*** it. I’m outta here.”

Before leaving, he pointed at Chewbacca, telling him, “And you, I’ll see you in H***!”

The two long-time friends and co-stars luckily worked things out, seen in a hilarious clip Kimmel shot with Ford and Chewy. Ford’s “fight” with the character Chewbacca was clearly something he had planned with the host, and Kimmel seemed to have a great time overall with Ford as his guest, and working on the elaborate skit, which involved the Star Wars celebrity and the character, Chewbacca.
