On September 1, 2023, a judge in Los Angeles ordered Jamie Spears, Britney Spears’ father, to appear in court to explain allegations that he “supervised” his daughter.

The allegation was made in a lawsuit filed by Spears’ legal team. 

The legal team alleges that Jamie Spears used his guardianship to monitor Spears by installing tracking devices in her home, monitoring her phone calls, and reading her emails.

“These allegations are very serious and require a thorough investigation,” Judge Brenda Penny said in her ruling. “Jamie Spears must appear in court to explain these charges.”

Spears has been fighting to end her conservatorship for years. 

She has accused her father of abusing her guardianship and preventing her from controlling her life.

This “supervision” allegation is one of the most serious allegations Spears has made against her father.

If proven true, it could lead to significant legal consequences for Jamie Spears.
