As has been swarming the net since earlier today, ‘Va Va Voom’ vixen Nicki Minaj is reportedly the next judge aboard ‘American Idol’s judging panel to bid the show adieu – following the lead of veteran judge Randy Jackson.
What started off as a testament to the diva’s growing star power quickly turned sour as she fended herself from blame by a number of the show’s devoted fans for its decline in viewership since news of her inclusion.
Indeed, from the very start her tenure on the reality singing competition has been rocked with criticisms, beginning with that epic diva showdown with fellow judge/pop icon Mariah Carey…
The incident brought with it what many believed would be heightened buzz for the show’s 12th season, but as quickly as the hype hit a feverish pitch, it declined.
Even with three of music’s top acts occupying seats at the judging table, the show toppled with its worst ratings ever – consistently losing battles to NBC’s ‘The Voice’.
As its close nears, US Weekly reports the ‘Pink Friday’ performer is packing her bags after just one season. The news was greeted with mix review, but – if reports are to be believed – most are on the “Minaj Exit” bandwagon.
