Harrison Ford, Calista Flockhart, and their son Liam are currently enjoying a vacation in Dubrovnik
The family has been staying in the city for several weeks
On a recent day, the Fords took a sailing excursion on a traditional Karaka ship.
The Karaka is a type of merchant ship that was used in the Mediterranean Sea during the Middle Ages.
The ship is large and sturdy, with three masts and a square sail.
The Fords’ Karaka sail began in the morning, and it lasted for several hours.
The ship sailed out of Dubrovnik Harbor and into the Adriatic Sea.
The family enjoyed the beautiful scenery of the Dubrovnik archipelago, which includes a number of islands and islets.
Captain Fran Radošević, the captain of the Karaka, was a knowledgeable and engaging guide.
He told the Fords about the history of the Karaka and the maritime tradition of Dubrovnik.
Captain Radošević also shared his own experiences of sailing in the Adriatic Sea.
Harrison Ford was particularly interested in learning about the Karaka’s history. He asked Captain Radošević many questions about the ship’s construction and its use in the Middle Ages. Ford also expressed his admiration for the craftsmanship and skill that went into building the Karaka.
Liam Ford, who is 11 years old, also enjoyed the sailing excursion. He was especially excited to learn about the ship’s sails and rigging. Liam helped Captain Radošević to raise the sails and to steer the ship.
The Fords had a wonderful time on their Karaka sail. They enjoyed the beautiful scenery, the informative guide, and the opportunity to learn about Dubrovnik’s maritime history. The experience was a highlight of their vacation.
