Actor Harrison Ford paid a visit to a downtown Knoxville restaurant on Wednesday morning.
Ford stopped for breakfast at Pete’s Coffee Shop around 8:30 a.m. and stayed for about 45 minutes, according to the restaurant’s co-owner Joey Natour.
Natour said he recognized Ford when he was about to pay.
They talked about the latest “Stars Wars” film, “Star Wars: The Last Jedi.
” Ford did not reprise his role as Han Solo in “The Last Jedi.”
“I saw him come and pay, and he looked familiar, and that’s when I just went up and started talking to him … joking that he wasn’t in the new ‘Star Wars’ movie,” said Natour.
Natour said Ford was a quiet guy but had a sense of humor.
“He (Ford) said he noticed he wasn’t in the new one (‘Star Wars’ movie) either … he said he didn’t get the call for that one, so … he was a quiet guy, but he had a little sense of humor.”
Natour said Ford was just passing through Knoxville on Wednesday.
“He (Ford) said he was just passing through, but I think his wife is from Morristown, but that’s what he told one of our waitresses. For the most part, he said he was just passing through,” said Natour.
Ford is married to actress Calista Flockhart. The two have visited Morristown before, and Flockhart’s mother Kay lives there, according to a 2008 News Sentinel story.
