At the time, Lady Gaga’s Alejandro was just released and people assumed that Katy was talking about the song.

Katy who was raised as a Christian denied that the tweet was about Gaga’s song, she also added that her tweet does not target anything specific and just a general thing.

Lady Gaga and Katy Perry are always pitted against each other due to the fact that they both debuted in 2008. Comparison between the two throughout their careers is inevitable since they started in the music industry at the same time.

The fans of both singers constantly stirred the pots with their comparison, which might have resulted to drive a wedge between the two.

It also did not help that throughout their music careers, their music seems to be always competing against each other. Katy’s single Roar and Lady Gaga’s single Applause were released just days apart but because of a leak, both singles debuted on the same day.
