The stars will shine at the 39th annual Auction Napa Valley this spring, but they won’t all come from the world of wine.

The Napa Valley Vintners announced Monday that the May 30-June 2 event, subtitled the American Wine Classic, will feature two headliners from the entertainment and culinary worlds: Katy Perry and Ayesha Curry.
Perry will kick off the bidding at Saturday’s big wine auction by singing a selection of her hits, the association said.
Restaurateur and author Curry and fellow chefs from the Michael Mina Group will cook for auction-goers — but not until the last gavel falls — over open fires on the Meadowood property.

Other events during the four-day fundraising gala include a barrel auction at the newly restored Louis M. Martini Winery, dinners in vintner’s homes and a farewell brunch.

According to the group, the auction has raised more than $185 million over the decades for Napa Valley community health and children’s educational causes.
