Tom Cruise donated $5,000 to an ice cream shop in Virginia after a family got into a car accident and was exhausted by hospital bills.

The accident occurred on July 12, 2023, when a truck crashed into a car parked at the ice cream shop. 

A family of three, including a couple and a small child, were injured in the accident.

The wife, named Ashley, suffered a broken leg and was hospitalized for a week. 

Her husband, John, suffered a head injury and was hospitalized for two days. 

Their young child, named Lily, suffered minor injuries.

Medical expenses from the accident have exhausted the family. They had to use all their savings to pay for hospital bills and medicine.

When the family’s story spread on social networks, Tom Cruise got to know them. He contacted his family and offered to help.

Cruise donated $5,000 to the family to help cover their medical expenses. He also sent words of encouragement to his family and wished them a speedy recovery.

Ashley, whose wife was involved in the accident, expressed her gratitude to Cruise. She said his donation would help her family a lot.

“We are so grateful to Tom Cruise for his generosity,” Ashley said. “This money will help us a lot in covering medical expenses and helping us return to normal life.”
