Harrison Ford was spotted grabbing lunch in Selfridges in London on his 79th birthday on Tuesday where he delighted one lucky fan.
The icon was without his shoulder sling which he had been wearing following the injury he sustained on the set of the fifth Indiana Jones film just three weeks ago.
Harrison – who has been filming the latest film from the franchise across
the UK in recent months – looked relaxed as he wore his jeans and sweatshirt and was pictured with a fan online
Although it’s been reported that Harrison would be taking a three-month hiatus from filming and that the schedule would be reconfigured to fit in with his injury rehabilitation,
the Star Wars actor looked like he was fighting fit.
Harrison took off his green mask and bent down to pose with the mother of writer and The Significance Of R blogger Marie at the deli counter of Selfridges in London
Marie from Somerset wrote on her Twitter: ‘They say ‘Never meet your idols’! Thats simply BS! ‘How about bumping into them in Selfridges food-hall during lunch at the deli counter on your birthday!
‘My mum was over the moon with joy as I took this picture & said how much she loves #HarrisonFord I was too starstruck to speak!’
She later added: ‘It was such an awesome moment (for me as a super fan) I was SO star struck that I couldn’t speak!
‘It was a bucket list moment. If #Harrison Ford does see this photo with my mum, please forgive me for walking away, for not asking about your shoulder, not asking you to lunch!’
Harrison Ford celebrated his 79th birthday on Tuesday as film crews continued to set up scenes at various locations including one centred around the homecoming parade for the Moon Landing in 1969 in Glasgow city centre.
Despite sparking fears he may require surgery to fix his shoulder injury, Harrison already seems to be well on the road to recovery as he headed out for a shop.
Having been forced to take a three-month break from filming due to his injury, Harrison has been enjoyed his unexpected downtime.
The star, who was seen sporting a khaki green sling two weeks ago, was without the addition on his arm as he continued his lengthy recovery.
Filming for the fifth and final Indiana Jones movie in the series was thought to have been pushed back by three months due to Harrison’s injuries, after being originally due for release in 2022.
It is a fresh blow for the movie – which sees James Mangold taking on directing duties from long-time helmer Steven Spielberg – after shooting was previously pushed back as a result of the coronavirus pandemic.
An insider told The Sun’s Bizarre column: ‘It is Harrison’s last outing as Indiana and everyone thought it would be plain sailing.
‘After the initial delays everyone was raring to go. But now Harrison is injured and it is worse than first thought.
‘The film’s bosses have come together to work out the scheduling and it’s chaos. The earliest they think they can restart the production is September.
‘It was not what anyone was expecting so to have to change everything is a huge blow. Everyone was concerned for Harrison and they are glad he is on the mend.’
