Harrison Ford had more to celebrate than just Christmas in 2012!
Finally, after sitting on the market for two years, he can now celebrate the sale of his New York City penthouse.
Ford spends most of his time these days in Wyoming and lately has been attempting to sell not only this NYC penthouse but also the Brentwood, California home he has owned for almost 30 years.
This year’s market upswing has sales continuing straight through and Ford’s sale is just one example of many that took place around the country as 2012 came to a close.
Harrison Ford has always displayed a flair for recognizing a property with potential, getting a good deal, executing a skilled redo.
Ford purchased his New York penthouse in 2002 for $5.3 million. The Chelsea Prairie was formerly a warehouse built in the 1860s on West 17th Street.
It’s a building teeming with character and has only one apartment per floor with a keyed elevator.
Ford completely renovated the 5,664 square foot apartment in minimalist style using luxury materials and finishes in warm neutral tones.
The 5,664 square foot penthouse has a total of 11 rooms – 4 bedrooms, 5 baths and a private roof deck with views over the city.
Listed for $16 million, sold to a Cambridge, Massachusetts buyer for $15 million on December 11th.
