The dad of four posted a sweet message for son Cruz to mark his birthday on February 20

David Beckham has posted a gushing tribute to son his Cruz in celebration of the youngster’s 12th birthday.

The former footballer took to Instagram to share a lengthy post about his third son, whom he describes as the “cheekiest” member of the Beckham family with the biggest heart.

“He may be the cheekiest but this little man has the biggest heart and sweetest nature and any dad would be proud to have that in his son,” wrote David.

“At 12 years old he brings a smile and joy into the house from the moment he opens his eyes till the moment he falls asleep which normally means 8:30pm ( but we all know that means 9:30 right CRUZ. Anyway Happy birthday little man x love you.”

David and Spice Girl turned fashion designer wife Victoria welcomed Cruz on February 20, 2005. He was born in Madrid, Spain, where dad David had been playing for Real Madrid.

They’re also parents to sons Brooklyn, 17, and Romeo, 14, and daughter Harper, five.

It seems like Cruz may be following in his mum’s footsteps, after releasing his very first song, If Every Day Was Christmas, last year.

“The amazing thing about this, we only realised Cruz has a cute little voice about nine months ago,” said David during an interview with Good Morning America.

Cruz’s song was released via Justin Bieber’s manager Scooter Braun, with proceeds going to charity.

“Scooter has been a family friend for a while, so he said to bring him in, see if he enjoys it,” said David. There’s nothing more to this than that at the moment.”
